Local attractions

You will appreciate that with the wide range of facilities available on-site there is absolutely no need to go elsewhere! There are however many other attractions nearby, or, for special excursions, further afield.

Weston Super Mare.

The smile in smiling Somerset; Weston Super Mare is the closest sea side destination to Barton. Roll up your trousers and take a paddle.

Court Farm.

Experience life on a working farm. Feed the goats, geese and ducks, watch a sheep dog in action, ride the tractor and find out how a real farm works. Perfect for a day visit.

Cheddar Gorge.

One of the wonders of Somerset. Walk up to the top of the gorge and take in the incredible view or visit one of the many attractions based in the valley.

SS Great Britain

The world's first iron-hulled, steam-powered ocean going ship. Designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the ship was built in 1843 at the Great Western Dockyard in Bristol.

Concorde at Filton.

Faster than a rifle bullet – twice the speed of sound! Bristol played a major part in the creation of this wonderful, world-beating aeroplane.

Wells, Bath and Glastonbury.

The local area boasts some of the most interesting towns and cities in the country. Visit the Roman baths in Bath, the Cathedral in Wells or climb the Tor at Glastonbury.
